Biography

Ashley Leasure is an associate in the firm’s Tampa office. Ms. Leasure concentrates her practice on appellate work in state and federal courts. Ms. Leasure also provides extensive litigation support including preparing objections to novel discovery requests and by drafting dispositive motions including motions to dismiss, for judgment on the pleadings, for summary judgment, and for directed verdict, as well as complex motions in limine such as those involving Daubert. Ms. Leasure also handles all post-judgment matters involving attorney’s fees and taxable costs, assessing the collectability of plaintiffs, and employing judgment execution techniques.

Her practice areas include liability defense cases involving automobile accidents, uninsured motorist coverage claims, premises liability, commercial general liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and personal injury, as well as nonfinal appeals involving presuit noncompliance, entitlement to punitive damages, and discovery issues.

Ms. Leasure obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Elon University in Political Science with a minor in Accounting. She graduated cum laude and was a member of several honors societies. She also founded and was the lead editor of Visions Magazine, which Elon is still publishing. She attended the University of Miami School of Law, graduating cum laude. During her tenure she took the advanced litigation skills course and received book awards in Legal Research and Writing and Health Law. Ms. Leasure began her practice with a small commercial litigation firm focused on foreclosure, collections, and bankruptcy, then she spent five years as staff attorney to the Honorable J. Andrew Atkinson of the Second District Court of Appeal.
