Biography
Gabe Mendoza is an experienced trial attorney practicing out of Rissman’s Jacksonville office. Originally from San Diego, California, Gabe graduated from Texas State University in 2007 and Fordham University School of Law in 2011. Before joining Rissman, Gabe represented plaintiffs in high-stakes trucking personal injury cases. Prior to that, he spent the first fourteen years of his legal career as a decorated New York City prosecutor, where he investigated and prosecuted crimes involving violent gangs and criminal enterprises. Gabe dedicated much of his time to successfully dismantling large-scale gang organizations based in Queens County. He later transitioned to the role of Assistant Deputy Chief of the Hate Crimes Bureau, where he supervised the prosecution of crimes targeting individuals because of their race, religion, national origin, gender, or sexual orientation. Further, as Deputy Director of Litigation Training, Gabe trained new as well as experienced Assistant District Attorneys in legal concepts and trial strategy.
Gabe is a proud faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) where he is able to teach practicing attorneys the skills needed to be successful in the courtroom. Gabe has taught hundreds of law students in his role as a Professor of Law at both Fordham University School of Law and St. John’s University School of Law in New York City. Additionally, Gabe has successfully coached dozens of trial advocacy teams, many of whom successfully secured Championships and Advocacy Awards. With Rissman, Gabe dedicates that same passion for justice, education, and advocacy to each and every one of his clients.
How I Resolve
I know the importance and value of effective communication with everyone involved in a court case, from the client to the jury and everyone in between. Being able to effectively communicate our message is fundamental to finding success on behalf of our clients.
