Biography

Hillary Hazeltine is a Liability Associate in the Orlando office of Rissman, Barrett, Hurt, Donahue, McLain & Mangan, P.A., where her practice focuses primarily on premises defense. She received her Bachelors degree in history and obtained a teaching certification for secondary education from Lawrence University in 2018, and her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law with a Certification of Concentration in Social Justice Advocacy in 2022. While at law school, Hillary competed for Stetson’s nationally renowned Trial Team in numerous competitions, which included placing as a semi-finalist in a national competition. She participated in Stetson’s Veteran’s Clinic, Stetson’s Public Defender’s Clinic in the dependency and delinquency division, and completed pro bono work with the Wisconsin Department of Justice following an externship with the Division of Legal Services. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Carol R. Samuels Unsung Hero Student Leadership Award, was a finalist in the William Reece Smith, Jr. Pro Bono Showcase, and received the coveted Order of Barristers award.

During law school, she worked as a teaching assistant for Trial Advocacy and as a research assistant in Evidence. She clerked for several law firms in the Tampa Bay area and Boca Raton, gaining exposure to a variety of different practice areas including mass tort litigation, criminal defense, personal injury, and civil defense.

How I Resolve

I believe the best way to resolve a case is to understand the goal of the client from day one. Their goal will steer the path for how to best obtain the desired result. Knowing the facts of the case is vital in obtaining a successful outcome, and I take pride in being able to zealously defend our clients while maintaining professionalism and compassion every step of the way.
