Biography

Josef B. Hess is an attorney in the Jacksonville office. He received his undergraduate degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and thereafter received his Juris Doctor degree at Florida Coastal School of Law, where he earned Dean’s List Honors and Pro Bono Honors.

Josef is recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America, by Super Lawyers: Florida Rising Stars, and was awarded with the Florida Bar’s 36 Under 36 Professionalism Award for displaying the highest standards of professionalism and ethics. He is also recognized by Marquis Who’s Who in America, by Attorney at Law Magazine as a “Rising Star” and “Talk of the Town,” by Jacksonville Magazine’s list of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch, by Voyage Jacksonville Magazine as a “Hidden Gem,” and by Folio Weekly Magazine’s Best of Jacksonville Beaches as “Best Family Lawyer.”

Josef was selected to be part of the Florida Bar’s William Reece Smith, Jr.’s Leadership Academy Class XII, which is an invitation only program dedicated to enhancing the skills of lawyers to become effective leaders throughout the Bar, the legal profession, and the community. Josef volunteers in the William M. Raines High School Future Lawyers and Leaders program as a mentor, a program dedicated to guiding tomorrow’s legal minds and leaders.

Josef represents a wide variety of clients in liability defense matters and has obtained significant results for his clients. As a highly skilled litigator, Josef’s practice has taken him to State and Federal Court, where he is well experienced in representing clients in all phases of the litigation.

How I resolve

Josef is respected amongst his peers and is naturally drawn to helping other people. He is a compassionate person who takes the time to sit and listen to his client’s concerns and goals for their case. Josef is the type of attorney that will always be honest and will constantly keep his clients informed during the entire process. He understands that each client’s case is unique yet equally important, and will always work efficiently and fight hard to obtain the best results for each of his clients.
