Biography
Tony Pagán Jr. is an associate attorney at Rissman, Barrett, Hurt, Donahue, McLain & Mangan, P.A. Tony focuses his practice on counseling, defending, and litigating General Liability and Insurance Defense matters.
After graduation, Mr. Pagán interned with the Federal Public Defenders Office before joining Cynthia Conlin & Associates. As an associate, Mr. Pagán represented consumers, businesses, professionals, and artists in matters ranging from copyright infringement to unlawful evictions. Mr. Pagán has extensive experience in pre-suit investigations, crisis management, consumer rights, and legal research. Throughout his career, he has registered and defended multiple IP registrations, litigated several civil suits from inception through verdict, and avoided discharge of civil judgments through bankruptcy adversary proceedings.
During his tenures at Simon, Reed & Salazar and Clausen Miller, Mr. Pagán assisted national and local insurance carriers with the investigation of claims, including but not limited to, providing coverage opinions, conducting depositions and examinations under oath, and litigating first and third-party insurance claims from inception to resolution. Mr. Pagán also worked on numerous liability disputes, including but not limited to products liability, premises liability, luxury real estate auctions, and construction defects. This experience has equipped Mr. Pagán with a nuanced understanding of pre-suit investigations, crisis management, task prioritization, and data analysis.
While in law school, Mr. Pagán was elected and served as President of the Hispanic-American Law Student Association (HALSA) after serving as Treasurer the year before. During his terms, Mr. Pagán organized numerous community-outreach programs and service events.
Mr. Pagán’s commitment to excellence has also been recognized both within the legal community and by esteemed publications. As a 2024 Super Lawyers Rising Star, Mr. Pagán is honored to be among the select few Florida attorneys acknowledged for their outstanding professional achievements and contributions to the field.
Mr. Pagán’s father, a former police officer with the Jersey City and Kissimmee Police Departments and current Education Administrator, instilled a fundamental and unwavering understanding of right and wrong; while his mother, a devoted social worker with Orange County Public Schools, preached the importance of giving back to the community. Mr. Pagán is a fan of trivia and sports. His favorite teams include the Green Bay Packers, Orlando Magic, and Florida State Seminoles.
