Driving a Favorable Outcome for our Client

Jeremy Palma and Jennifer Hoge

Sometimes when an auto accident happens, the damage is only just beginning.

Rissman attorneys Jeremy Palma and Jennifer Hoge achieved a favorable verdict for their client after a nine-day trial in Brevard County. The case revolved around a car accident where the defendant ran a red light and collided with another vehicle. The two passengers in the impacted vehicle were not wearing seatbelts and claimed to have suffered significant injuries, including traumatic brain injuries.

Despite admitting negligence, the defense focused on disputing the extent of the plaintiffs’ injuries and related medical costs. The plaintifs’ attorney, requested substantial amounts for past and future medical expenses and pain and suffering for the injured parties. Conversely, the defense argued for damages covering only the first 14 weeks of treatment, as suggested by their medical expert.

After less than three hours of deliberations, the jury returned a verdict in the exact amount suggested by our team. The successful defense was thanks to the diligent work of Nathan Ringer, Donna Todd, Judy Day, Kelly Fetro, and Chris Ringer in preparing the case for trial. Additional support was provided by Katie Gannon, Aaron Eagan, Rachael Metallo, Kendall Griesse, Kailey Peel, Natalie Robinson, and Hillary Hazeltine.
