Rissmans 2026 Summer Intern Program: A Season of Growth and Discovery
Nine law clerks gained real-world courtroom experience, from depositions to mock trials, through Rissman’s immersive summer internship program.
Hard to believe summer is almost over. This summer, Rissman invited nine law clerks to spend their summer with us as paid interns. Our goal was for them to get as much out of the experience as possible.
Rissman’s summer program is designed to give interns invaluable, hands-on skills not taught in law school, which help them discover the right path for their careers. This summer, our interns attended depositions, mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trials. They prepared summaries for the events they attended, drafted medical chronologies and motions, and handled complex legal research. Our interns found that every door at Rissman was open and welcoming to offer guidance and mentorship.
At the finale of the summer, the interns participated in mock trials. The mock trials were a wonderful experience that would not have happened without our highly invested coaches, including Parker Blystone, Kendall Calwhite, Kelsey Campbell, Cami DiGiacomo, Hillary Hazeltine, Lowell Karr, and Skylar Stewart, with our fantastic judge Richard Mangan and special juror Karissa Owens. The interns did a phenomenal job preparing openings, direct and cross examinations, and closing arguments. We asked them to handle evidentiary issues even knowing some of them had not taken evidence yet, and they all exceeded our expectations.
We are so proud of our interns, including Ashley Brown, Matthew Cuomo, Skylar Hendler, Sophia Johns, Aliza Khandelwal, Graham McCullough, Myles Salustro, Kayla Shen, and Lauren Suggs. Each intern should leave this summer knowing they are taking all these skills with them.
